WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I'm a computer scientist who retired after 35 years of public service. My hobbies include software development (no surprise there) as well as working on and driving my 1967 Mustang; I am also an amateur radio operator (call sign KB3HHA). I operate mainly using digital modes on HF. Finally, I run a personal weather station that is a part of the Citizen's Weather Observer Program and Weather Underground.

While I don't program professionally anymore I do still write software for my own personal use when the mood (or need) strikes me. I have decided to make some of the applications that might have a wider appeal beyond myself available for download. Documentation is minimal for some of the applications but I am working on it.

Software

I moved my software to a new web site hosting provider.  You can find my software here.

Mustang

My car in the OC boardwalk parade 1967 Ford Mustang Hardtop
I have owned this car since August 1974. I have done several "rolling restorations" on it since then.  All of my long time friends have some memories of cruising around in this car.  Some of them still ride with me today when I take the car out.

HAM Radio

I earned my amateur radio operator's license in October 2001. Since then I have made many contacts with many other radio amateurs (hams) around the world. To find out more about my station equipment and antennas, any projects I might be working on, as well as my most recent contacts, visit my amateur radio page.

Weather

Lightning Personal Weather Station
I have operated a personal weather station since 2007. It has been through several iterations, including both commercial and homebrew weather sensor hardware, and several computers. The most recent version uses a Davis Vantage Vue with a Raspberry Pi single board computer. I developed all of the software for the weather station and weather web site.
